You know it from the first spoon
Few ingredients, all real: the taste is the hazelnut, not a flavouring.

Gelato, chocolate and pastry in Grottaferrata, half an hour from Rome. Raw materials chosen one by one, since 2016.
Few ingredients, all real: the taste is the hazelnut, not a flavouring.

Pistachio, hazelnut, cocoa and fresh milk: what enters the lab decides what comes out.

Gelato is churned several times a day and sits in the display for hours, not weeks.

Tempered on marble: pralines, bars and the Easter eggs with the surprise you choose.

Panettone, pandoro and nougat in December, colomba and eggs at Easter. They are booked, and they sell out.

Luca and Matteo Di Furia opened in June 2016 in Grottaferrata: gelato, chocolate and sweets made in the lab, with no ready mixes. Since 2026 also in Frascati.

Creams and seasonal fruit, churned every day. Plus a high-protein line and a low glycaemic one.
The flavours
Pralines, bars, thick hot chocolate in winter and Easter eggs with a personalised surprise.
The chocolate
Panettone and pandoro at Christmas, colomba and pastiera at Easter, gelato cakes and crepes all year.
The sweetsWe look for small producers and Slow Food presidia, and we write them on the label at the counter.

The gelato is always there. The rest comes and goes with the seasons, which is the honest way to work a raw material.
In January the lab makes
The month of the creams: hazelnut, pistachio, dark chocolate. In the shop, thick hot chocolate and the last nougat of the season.
In February the lab makes
Carnival frappe come out of the lab early in the morning and last until Shrove Tuesday. The gelato never stops.
In March the lab makes
Chocolate work for the Easter eggs begins: personalised surprises can be booked from now. The first colomba cakes towards the end of the month.
In April the lab makes
Colomba, pastiera and eggs with the surprise you choose. Bookings until Holy Thursday, then whatever is left.
In May the lab makes
The first strawberries arrive and the counter turns colourful: fruit sorbets take half the display. Granita comes back with the heat.
In June the lab makes
The fullest month: gelato, almond and lemon granita, gelato cakes for birthdays and first communions.
In July the lab makes
Long evenings in the hills. Peach, melon, watermelon and raspberry sorbets, and gelato cakes to order.
In August the lab makes
Figs, blackberries and strawberry grapes as they arrive. Granita until mid August and beyond, as long as the heat lasts.
In September the lab makes
Late figs in gelato, for a few weeks only. The creams move back to the centre of the counter with the first cool evenings.
In October the lab makes
Chestnuts, dark chocolate in first place, hot chocolate starting again. Christmas bookings open.
In November the lab makes
Panettone and pandoro come out of the lab mid month, almond nougat right after. Numbers are small: book ahead.
In December the lab makes
The holidays: panettone, pandoro, nougat, hot chocolate and the gelato, which at Christmas is given as a one kilo tub.
now
Holiday sweets are made to order: the numbers are small and they run out early.

The comparison is with industrial ice cream from the freezer aisle, not with other artisan gelato shops: those are colleagues.
Every flavour is an explosion of truth. The dark chocolate is another one I order often.
The fruit flavours are my favourites. The dark chocolate is the best I have ever tasted.
Try the marsala cream. It is fantastic.
You taste every flavour in full. It is in the top five gelatos in Rome.
